Krishna Babu Lakshmanan secured the title at the 13th ACA Classical Chess Tournament, finishing with 7 points from 8 rounds. Organised by Arjun’s Chess Academy, the tournament took place at the academy in Bahrain from 10 to 31 October 2026.
Dhrupad Lohidas finished second with 5.5 points, while Trishan Moorkoth claimed third place with 5 points.
The non-rated tournament followed an eight-round Swiss system, with two rounds played each Saturday over four weeks. Players competed with a time control of 40 minutes per player plus a 30-second increment per move, allowing time for careful calculation and planning.
The event offered ACA students valuable practice in longer games, encouraging patience, concentration and thoughtful decision-making.
Congratulations to the top three finishers and all participating players!👏🏻
